But that is the year that the Myans seemed to indicate some sort of global change would take place, isnt it? How do you deflect sub-atomic particles travelling hundreds of kms/sec? Could we place shields up in space in such short notice? Perhaps we could start replacing vital satellites with better-shielded counterparts, something that would take ages, and hope that 2012 is a fizzer!! It may not happen in 2012.
