Introducing the new Science Oxford Online!

Welcome to the new Science Oxford Online website – Thank you for stopping by!
We originally launched this website in spring 2009 as a way to demonstrate how the different Science Oxford teams work together, and with diverse audiences to achieve our mission:
To encourage the pursuit of science and enterprise
Over time our ideas evolved to the extent that we decided to try something much more ambitious; on this site we created a new design which in line with our long term vision:
Making connections between science, enterprise and society
This website is our attempt to illustrate connections between different areas of science. It also tries to show the many connections that science has with everyday life.
By browsing this site, we hope that you will get a feel for new research and get some ideas about how science theories of today might create tomorrows commercial products. You will also see how this new knowledge can be communicated with schools and the general public. This site will invite you to think about the future – how will these new discoveries mould the world our children will inherit? We will be encouraging you to have your say!
This site also provides us with a place to let you know what we are doing to fulfil our mission. We will let you know about new programmes and initiatives we are running, so you can get involved. We will also provide you with activities you can try at home.
Science Oxford Online is different to your usual ‘science news’ website, because it is our edited view of the world of science. We are focused on specifically showing you how science fits into everything you do, in everyday life.
Please enjoy, and better still, get involved, tell us what you think.

Great stories, really interesting. How do I link to ore information on Science Oxford Live events or find out your location in Oxford from this site? There doesn’t seem to be an obvious link…

Beth, More information on Science Oxford Live can be found at: http://www.scienceoxfordlive.com. This website is new and so I will be keeping your comments on file as I do agree – we need more links to our other websites. Thanks for the thoughts…
