What Specimen Best Represents ’Clean & Green’?

Posted by Science Oxford on March 16, 2010 | comments

As part of Science Oxford’s Clean and Green Festival we have been lucky enough to acquire the use of an electron microscope to have an object scanned.

We let you, our readers, decide what object you would most like to see scanned; by voting on the following question:

WHAT SPECIMEN BEST REPRESENTS ‘CLEAN AND GREEN’?

Our readers decided:

A Solar Panel Cell – Representing how clean energy may save us from our polluting past?

Our sample is currently being scanned and we hope to have it back and be able to share some pictures with you by the end of the month! – Watch this space…

I’ll vote for a condom … representing birth control (albeit that it doesn’t represent female-driven birth control – could you scan a Pill?).

I’ll vote for a seed! Farming sustainably is something I care passionately about.
